Acanthocinus (Acanthocinus) elegans, a rare endemic species occuring in Azerbaijan and NW Iran, has been described from Azerbaijan by Ludwig Ganglbauer in 1884 [▽].
Body length: 7 - 12 mm Life cycle: 1 year Adults in: May - June Host plant: polyphagous on deciduous trees (Quercus, Carpinus) Distribution: Azerbaijan, Iran
The depicted beetles were collected on the dead oak (Quercus sp.) in Gorgan environs (Mazandaran province, Iran).
