Agapanthia mikhaili, an endemic Armenian Smaragdula-species close to Agapanthia (Smaragdula) amitina Holzschuh, 1989 and Agapanthia (Smaragdula) persicola Reitter, 1894, has been described from several Armenian localities by our friend Karel Hodek in 2021 [❖].
Body length: ♂♂ 6.4 - 9.1 mm / ♀♀ 7.1 - 9.9 mm Life cycle: 1 year Adults in: May - June Host plant: unknown Distribution: an endemic species to Armenia
The depicted beetles (paratypes) were collected in: ♂ - Mt. Kotuts (N39°58′32.32″ E44°50′33.46″; 1300-2046 m a.s.l., 7 km NE Urtsadzor, Ararat province, Armenia) on June 5, 2013; ♀ - Noravank (Նորավանք) monastery environs (N39°41′01.02″ E45°14′06.19″; 1500 m a.s.l., 6 km SE Areni, Vayots Dzor province, Armenia) on May 30, 2013.Collected by David Navrátil
