Alosterna scapularis, a species known from Azerbaidjan and North Iran, has been described from "Hadschyabad, in Persien" (Hadjiabad at Gorgan, Iran) as Strangalia scapularis by Lucas F.J.D. von Heyden in 1878 [▽].
Body length: ♂♂ 5.5 - 7.5 mm / ♀♀ 6 - 9.5 mm Life cycle: 2 years [?] Adults in: May - June Host plant: larval development unknown Distribution: SE Azerbaidjan (Talysh Mts.), North Iran
The beetles in the picture were collected 2km SE of Peştətük (375 m a.s,l., Lerik Rayon, Talysh Mts., Azerbaijan), on May 5-12,2014.Collected by Roman Królik
