Ceroplesis elegans, a beautiful species occuring in Arabian peninsula, has been described from Yemen by Raffaello Gestro in 1889 [✱]. Adults, active from November to May, are nocturnal and can be attracted by light.
Body length: 20 - 30 mm Life cycle: 1 - 2 years Adults in: November - May Host plant: Vachellia spp. Distribution: Saudi Arabia, Yemen
Depicted beetle was reared from larva found in Vachellia branch in Wadi Murharash (1884 m a.s.l., 15 km NW of Sabt Al Alaya, ‘Asīr province, Saudi Arabia).Collected by our friend František Kovařík
