Certallum thoracicum, a species distributed in Arabian Peninsula, Iran, Near East and Turkey, has been described from Jeddah environs (Saudi Arabia) by David Sharp in 1880 [★].

Body length:6 - 10 mm
Life cycle:1 - 2 years [?]
Adults in:March - June
Host plant:unknown but probably some herbaceous plants [?]
Distribution:Iraq, Iran, Lebanon, Saudi Arabia, Syria, Turkey


The depicted beetles were collected in: ♂ - rock steppe 3 km SE of Dhāt Ra”s/ذات رأس (N30°59.2′ E35°44.2′; 850 m a.s.l., Karak Governorate, Jordan) on April 24, 2006; ♀ - 10km S Dārān (N32°53′40″ E50°27′53″; Faridan county, Isfahan province, Iran) on May 13, 2010.
