Chlorophorus aegyptiacus, an East Medirranean species occuring in Balcan Peninsula and Turkey, has been described from "Oriente" as Callidium aegyptiacum by Johann Christian Fabricius in 1775 [✧].
Body length: 7 - 10 mm Life cycle: 2 - 3 years Adults in: May - July Host plant: polyphagous in deciduous trees (Quercus, Pistacia) Distribution: Bulgaria, Crete, Greece, Macedonia, Turkey
The depicted beetle was reared from a dead kermes oak (Quercus coccifera) branch found in Malia (North Crete).Collected by Michal Hoskovec
