Chlorophorus favieri, a rare species endemic to Morocco, has been described from Morocco as Clytus Favieri by Léon Fairmaire in 1873 [✧]. Ch. favieri larvae develop in the dying branches of oaks. Adults, active in May and June, are diurnal and anthophilous [❖][✮].

Host plant:oaks (Quercus spp.), one record from Cedrus atlantica
Distribution:an endemic species to Morocco


The depicted beetles were reared from larvae found in dead branches of Quercus rotundifolia in Aït Oufella village environs (1950 m a.s.l., Col du Zad, Middle Atlas Mts., Midelt province, Drâa-Tafilalet region, Morocco) in April 11, 2024.
