Clytus arietis lederi, a subsppecies known from Transcaucasia (Turkey, Azerbaijan, Iran, Turkmenistan), has been described from "Caucasus" as Clytus arietis var. lederi by Ludwig Ganglbauer in 1881 [▽].

Host plant:polyphagous in deciduous trees
Distribution:Turkey [❖], Azerbaijan, Iran, Turkmenistan


The depicted mounted beetle (11 mm) was collected close to road from Tegran to Chalus (314 m a.s.l., 20 km to Chalus, Māzandarān province, Iran) on May 27, 2015. The living beetle was photographed in Sym (Сым) village environs (900 m a.s.l., Astara district, Lankaran region, Azerbaijan) on May 16, 2012.
