Dorcadion dimidiatum, a common and widely distributed Anatolian-Transcaucasian species (occuring in Armenia, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Iran, and Turkey), has been described from Armenia by Victor Ivanovitsch Motschulsky in 1838 [▽][✧].
Body length: 11 - 16 mm Life cycle: 1 year Adults in: May - June Host plant: roots of grasses (Poaceae) Distribution: Armenia, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Iran, Turkey
The depicted beetle was collected in alpine meadows near village Semyonovka (Սեմյոնովկա) in altitude 2200-2400 m (6 km SE of Dilijan; borders between Gegharkunik and Tavush provinces, Armenia) on June 3, 2012.Collected by Michal Hoskovec
