Dorcadion striolatum, a Caucasian/Transcaucasian species known from Armenia, Georgia, Iran, and Turkey, has been described from "Caucasus" by Gustav Kraatz in 1873 [❖].
Body length: ♂♂ 12 - 19 mm / ♀♀ 14 - 21 mm Life cycle: 1 year Adults in: April - July Host plant: roots of grasses (Poaceae) Distribution: Armenia, Georgia, Iran, Turkey
The living beetles were photographed in Atskuri fortress (აწყურის ციხე) environs (Atskuri, Akhaltsikhe municipality, Samtskhe-Javakheti region, SW Georgia) on May 9, 2016. Depicted mounted beetles were collected in Kaspi (კასპი) environs (Shida Kartli region, central Georgia) on April 17, 2014.Collected by Petr Jelínek and I. G. Plyushch
