Iberodorcadion (Baeticodorcadion) parmeniforme, an interesting Iberodorcadion species known from South-East Spain (provinces Jaén, Granada, Murcia, Albacete),
was described from Santiago de la Espada (Granada) as Dorcadion parmeniforme by Martínez de la Escalera in 1902 [❖]. This taxon was later considered only a subspecies
of Dorcadion (Iberodorcadion) mucidum. Eventually, after studying a wide series of individuals from "Iberodorcadion mucidum" six different populations, the taxon
Iberodorcadion parmeniforme (Escalera, 1902) was rehabilitated and also clearly separated from its congener Iberodorcadion mucidum by Antonio Verdugo Páez in 2014 [✧].
