Mallosia mirabilis mirabilis, occuring in Iran, Iraq and Eastern Turkey, has been described as Saperda mirabilis from "Transcaucasia" by Franz Faldermann in 1837 [▽].
Body length: 15 - 40 mm Life cycle: 1 year Adults in: May - June Host plant: Prangos sp. and Ferula sp. (Apiaceae) Distribution: Iran, Iraq, Turkey
The depicted mounted beetles were collected : ♂ + melanic ♂♀ in Morvārīd (مرواريد) village environs (2100-2200 m a.s.l., Central district of Kamyaran county, Ostān-e Kordestān province, Iran) on May 25, 2017; ♀ in Līkbīn (لكبن) village environs (1630-2125 m a.s.l., Lajan district, Piranshahr county, Āzarbāyjān-e Gharbī province, Iran) on May 28-29, 2017.The living specimens were photographed 3.5 km E of Khalifen village (N36°44'47.7" E45°35'04.3"; Āzarbāyjān-e Gharbī province, Iran).
