This rare representative of a new Metallidia subgenus of Phytoecia was described according to two collected specimens (♂ / ♀) by Denis Kasatkin in 2011 [❖]. Both adults beetles were found on Rindera albida (Boraginaceae), which is probably the host plant of this interesting Phytoecia.

Distribution:a species endemic to Turkey


The depicted beetles were collected in Buğlan Geçidi (Buglan Pass) (Muş province, East Turkey) on May 29-30, 2011.
