Phytoecia (Barbarina) behen has been described from Gemecik village situated west of Refahiye (Erzincan province, NE Turkey) by Gianfranco Sama and Martin Rejzek in 1999 [❖]. The species is related to Phytoecia (Barbarina) nepheloides Sama, 1997 described from north-eastern Syria and recorded later also from the environs of Adana (Turkey). According to Rejzek & al. [✧] Phytoecia (Barbarina) behen develops in Centaurea urvillei (Asteraceae).
