Phytoecia (Helladia) adelpha, a species occuring in Armenia, Cyprus, Syria and Turkey, has been described from Syria by Ludwig Ganglbauer in 1886 [✮]. Discussion among experts about whether it is a separate species or a mere subspecies of Phytoecia (Helladia) orbicollis Reiche et Saulcy, 1858 continues even today.

The depicted beetle was collected by sweeping of the vegetation in Pozanti environs (Adana province, Mediterranean region, Turkey) on June 10, 1992.
