Phytoecia rubropunctata, a widely distributed but rare and very local European Phytoecia, has been described from Paris environs (France) as Leptura rubropunctata by Johann August Ephraim Goeze in 1777 [✮]. According to Carlo Sturani Phytoecia (Musaria) rubropunctata develops in roots and basal parts of Trinia glauca (Apiaceae) [❖] .
Body length: 7 - 14 mm Life cycle: 1 year Adults in: April - June Host plant: Trinia glauca, Seseli montanum (preferred host plant in France, Hervé Brustel, personal communication) Distribution: Austria, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Czechia, Hungary, Italy, Moldova, Romania, Russia, Slovakia, Ukraine
