Phytoecia (Musaria) wachanrui, one of the lesser known and collected taxa of the subgenus Musaria, distributed in South-Eastern Mediterranean region, Near-East, and Iran, has been described from Turkey by Étienne Mulsant in 1851 [❖].

The depicted mounted beetle was collected in Tahtaköprü Dam (Tahtaköprü Barajı) environs (Kazıklı, İslâhiye district, Gaziantep province, Turkey) on April 3, 2010.
The living specimen was collected in Horsh Ehden Nature Reserve (Ehden environs, Zgharta district, North Governorate, Lebanon) on May 5, 2017.
