Plagionotus arcuatus lugubris, a subspecies occuring in Azerbaijan, North Iran and Turkmenia, has been described from Talysh Mountains (Azerbaijan) as Clytus lugubris by Edouard Ménétriés in 1832 [▽]. In the work of Maxim Lazarev from 2010 [❖], it is already considered a subspecies of Plagionotus arcuatus.
Body length: 8 - 20 mm Life cycle: 1 - 2 years Adults in: May - July Host plant: prefers Quercus spp., but also reported from deciduous trees (Castanea, Fagus) Distribution: Azerbaijan, North Iran, Turkmenia [❖]
