The depicted mounted beetles were collected on leaves of their host plant (black honeysuckle, Lonicera nigra) in Podbánské (Vysoké Tatry Mts., North Slovakia). The species is under a strict protection at present and can not be collected without breaking of the law! The living beetles, freshly emerged from Lonicera trump, were photographed in the same locality in June 2017.
Body length: 9 - 16 mm Life cycle: 2 - 3 years Adults in: June - July Host plant: honeysuckle (Lonicera nigra, Lonicera tatarica) Distribution: a very rare species endemic to the Carpathians (Slovakia, Poland, Hungary, Rumania)
Re-mounted specimens (over 55 years old) collected by Jiří Lorenc, in Martin Švarc collection.
