Purpuricenus dalmatinus, a beautiful and widespread East-Mediterranean faunistic element, has been described from Dalmatia (Croatia) by Jacob Sturm in 1843 [▽].
Body length: 14 - 20 mm Life cycle: 2 - 3 years Adults in: May - July Host plant: oaks (Quercus spp.) Distribution: Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Greece, Italy, Macedonia, Slovenia, Turkey, Israel, Jordan, Lebanon
