Stictoleptura (Stictoleptura) gladiatrix, a rare endemic species to Morocco known only from montane evergreen oak forests of the High Atlas,
has been described from Tizi N'Test pass environs (High Atlas) by Gianfranco Sama in 2008 [✧]. According to Sergi Trócoli [❖],
the status of the species is still unclear and requires further taxonomic research; it may be either a separate taxon or a form of the very plastic species
