Trichoferus arenbergeri

Trichoferus arenbergeri, an endemic species to Sardinia (Italy), has been described (only female) from Siniscola environs (Sardinia) by Carolus Holzschuh in 1995 [❖]. Larvae of this species develop on roots of herbaceous plants from Asteraceae family - Carlina corymbosa and Santolina corsica. Male of the species, zoogeography and bionomy in detail were pefectly described in the paper of Alessandro Biscaccianti and Daniele Sechi published in 2008 [✧]. The depicted beetles were reared from larvae found in Carlina corymbosa in San Teodoro – Lu Fraili environs (Sassari province, Sardinia, Italy) on July 11-19, 2017.
