Trichoferus quadriscutatus, an interesting endemic species to Morocco, has been described from Tiznit environs (Morocco) by Lukáš Skořepa in 2026 [❖]. All known specimens were reared from larvae developing in dead branches of oleander (Nerium oleander).
Body length: 6 - 18 mm Life cycle: 2 years Adults in: June - August Host plant: Nerium oleander Distribution: an endemic species to Morocco
The depicted mounted beetles (holotype and paratype) were reared from larvee found in dead branches of oleander Nerium oleander in Assaka village environs (N29°42′54″ W9°30′37″; 170 m a.s.l., 20 km E Tiznit, Tiznit province, Souss-Massa region, Morocco) on June 6, 2022.Collected by Karel Hodek
