Vadonia unipunctata, a broadly distributed West Palaearctic xerothermic steppe species, has been described from Dresden environs (Germany) as Leptura unipunctata by Johann Christian Fabricius in 1787 [▽]. Larval development in underground parts of living herbaceous plants (e.g. Knautia, Scabiosa). Life cycle at least 2 years. Adults, active from May to August, are diurnal and anthophilous [✧].
