Agapanthia (Homoblephara) martinae, an endemic species occuring in North-West Iran, has been described by Mikhail Danilevsky and David Navrátil in 2018 [▽]. A. martinae is very close to A. (H.) korostelevi Danilevsky, 1985, but has body less elongated, elytra with yellow-gray cover and less pointed tip, antennae are usually longer with less pronounced white rings, parameres are relatively shorter, slightly curved, and distinctly attenuated apically. This interesting species is known from two rather distant areas in Iran: Sīroo/Serow environs (Azerbaijan-e Gharbi province) and Kuh-e Baradarye pass (N36°08′ E47°20′; Shah massiv, Zanjan province). The adults beetles were observed and collected on Scorzonera latifolia (Fisch. & Mey.), which serves with high probability as its host plant.

The mounted beetles (paratypes) were collected in its type locality, Sīroo (سرو) environs (N37°38′37.11″ E44°44′12.63″; 1900-2000 m a.s.l., Sumay-ye Beradust district, Urmia county, Āzarbāyjān-e Gharbī province, NW Iran) on May 30-31, 2017. The living beetles were collected in Askestan (اسكستان) village environs (1750 m a.s.l., Ardabīl province, Iran) on May 27, 2018.Collected by David Navrátil and Petr Jelínek
