Rare Maghrebian taxon Chlorophorus pelleteri has been described from Oran environs (Algeria) as Clytus pelleteri by French entomolgists Francis Louis Laporte de Castelnau and Hippolyte Louis Gory in 1841 [❖].

Body length:7 - 11 mm
Life cycle:2 years
Adults in:May - July
Host plant:probably oaks (Quercus ilex and Quercus coccifera) [✧]
Distribution:Tunisia, Morocco, Algeria


The depicted beetle was collected in Taoula (تاولة) environs (40 km E Larache, Tanger-Tétoua region, Nord Morocco).
