Dorcadion heldreichii, an endemic species to Greece, has been described from Mount Parnassus by Gustav Kraatz in 1873 [❖].

Body length:♂♂ 11.4 - 15 mm / ♀♀ 13.6 - 15.8 mm
Life cycle:1 year
Adults in:April - June
Host plant:roots of herbaceous plants and grass
Distribution:an endemic species to Greece (Phthiotis)


The depicted male beetle was collected in Parnassos Ski Centre (Χιονοδρομικό Κέντρο Παρνασσού) environs (1740 m a.s.l., Amfikleia, Parnassos Mt., Phthiotis, Greece) on May 30, 2014.
