Dorcadion optatum, an endemic species to Kyrgyzstan, has been described from Tokmok environs (Kyrgyzstan) as Dorcadion (Compsodorcadion) optatum by Vasily Evgrafovich Jakovlev in 1906 [❖]. Its subspecies, D. optatum matthieseni, has been described from Bishkek environs (Kyrgyzstan) as Compsodorcadion matthieseni by Georgyi Leonidovitsch Suvorov in 1910 [✧][▽].

Distribution:an endemic species to Kyrgyzstan


The depicted beetle was collected in Chon Aryk village environs (900 m, Kirgizskiy Ridge, Kyrgyzstan) on April 20, 2001.
