Iberodorcadion mucidum, one of the most elegant Iberodorcadion species known from South Spain, was described as Lamia (Dorcadion) mucida by Johan Wilhelm Dalman in 1817 [▽]. Its Andalusian subspecies I. mucidum rondense, occuring in Cádiz and Malaga provinces, has been described by Antonio Verdugo Páez in 2003 [✧]. Adults of this taxon can be found hidden under stones or inside tufts of the host plants. The reported nocturnal activity of I. mucidum is a unique behavior among all taxa of the genus Iberodorcadion [❖]. The taxonomy of the I. mucidum taxa-cluster was well described in the work of Antonio Verdugo Páez in 2020 [★].

Body length:14 - 24 mm
