Molorchus abieticola, an interesting and rare species endemic to Turkey, has been described from Southern Turkey by Carolus Holzschuh in 2007 [▽].

Body length:9 - 14 mm
Life cycle:2 - 3 years
Adults in:May - June
Host plant:Cilician fir (Abies cilicica)
Distribution:an endemic species to Turkey


The depicted male beetles were reared from larvae found in dead twigs of Abies cilicica in Namrun (Çamlıyayla, Mersin province, Turkey) on May 25, 2011.
