Neoplocaederus denticornis, a widely distributed species of Sub-Saharan Africa known also from Arabian peninsula and Morocco, has been described from Guinea as Cerambyx denticornis by Johann Christian in 1801 [★].

Body length:26 - 40 mm
Life cycle:2 - 3 years
Adults in:March - October
Host plant:polyphagous in deciduous trees
Distribution:Oman, Saudi Arabia, Yemen, Morocco and Sub-Saharan Africa


Depicted beetles were collected in: ♂ - Hawf environs (N16°39′ E53°04′; 477 m a.s.l., Al-Mahrah governorate, East Yemen) on March 31, 2007; ♀ - reared from larva found in Vachellia in Thirah village environs (N13°53′ E45°48′; 1100 m a.s.l., 20 km west of Lawdar, Abyan governorate, South Yemen) on March 26-27, 2007.
