Paracorymbia sambucicola, a rare species known only from South Anatolia and Syrian coastal regions, has been described from Mersin envrions (South Turkey) as Brachyleptura sambucicola by Carolus Holzschuh in 1982 [✧].

The depicted beetles were collected on flowers (Apiaceae) in Rābīāh/Gaballe (ربيعة‎) environs (N35°49′ E36°02′; 650m a.s.l., Latakia District, Latakia Governorate, North-Western Syria) on July 2, 1998.
