Parmena balearica, a rare species endemic to Balearic Islands, was described from Sa Coma de n'Arbona environs (Mallorca) by Eduardo Vives in 1998 [❖].

Body length:8 - 12 mm
Life cycle:1 year
Adults in:December - July
Host plant:Helleborus foetidus, Euphorbia characias, Nerium oleander
Distribution:a subspecies endemic to Mallorca (Balearic Islands)


The depicted beetle was reared from larva found in Helleborus foetidus branch in the type locality (Sa Coma de n'Arbona, Sóller, Mallorca lsland, Spain) on May 26, 2013.
