Pilemia annulata, a rare Transcaucasian species, has been described as Phytoecia annulata by Clemens Hampe in 1852 [❖] According to Martin Rejzek et al. and Denis Kasatkin Pilemia (Pilemia) annulata develops in Nonea (Boraginaceae) species (e.g. Nonea sp., Nonea stenosolen and N. anchusoides) [✧][▽].

Life cycle:1 year
Adults in:May - June
Host plant:Nonea sp. (Boraginaceae)
Distribution:Azerbaijan, Armenia, Iran, Turkey


Depicted beetle was collected in Kandovān (كندوان) village environs (Central district of Osku county, Āzarbāijān-e Sharqi province, NW Iran) on May 21-22, 2017.
