Phytoecia (Musaria) kurdistana, a widely distributed SW-Asian species known from Azerbaijan, Armenia, Georgia, Iran, Iraq, and Turkey, has been described from "Persisch-Kurdistan" (North-West Iran) by Ludwig Ganglbauer in 1884 [▽]. So far, all specimens of P. kurdistana we found only on Eryngium sp. (Sea-holly; Apiaceae), which probably serves as a host plant of this remarkable species.
