Phytoecia longicornis has been described as Neomusaria longicornis from Buğlan Geçidi (border of Muş/Bingöl provinces, Eastern Turkey) by Carlo Pesarini and Andrea Sabbadini in 2009 [❖].

Body length:♂♂ 10.2 - 10.4 mm / ♀♀ 10.6 - 11.1 mm
Life cycle:1 year
Adults in:April - June
Host plant:sages (Salvia spp.)
Distribution:endemic species to East Turkey


The beetle in the picture was collected on Salvia sp. in Buğlan Geçidi (Buglan Pass) environs (1629 m a.s.l, border of Muş/Bingöl provinces, Eastern Turkey) on June 25, 2008.
