Phytoecia pontica has been described from "Pontus region" (South Turkey) by Ludwig Ganglbauer in 1884 [❖].

Distribution:Turkey, Syria, Jordan, Israel


The depicted beetles were collected in: ♂ - Borma (برما) village environs ( Qaṣabah Jarash district, Jerash governorate, Jordan) on April 13.4., 2022; ♀ - Krak de Montréal castle (مونتريال‎) environs (1300 m a.s.l., Shoubak, Ma'an governorate, Jordan) on April 23, 2018.
