The species was recently described by Denis Kasatkin from Iran [❖], it was later moved into a newly estabilished subgenus Paracoptosia by Mikhail Danilevsky in 2017 [✩].

Body length:10 - 11 mm
Life cycle:1 year
Adults in:May - June
Host plant:probably Moltkia sp. (Boraginaceae), Echium, Onosma
Distribution:Eastern Turkey, Western Iran, South-Eastern Azerbaijan


The depicted living female was collected by P.Jelínek on the host plant in West Iran. The mounted beetles were captured: ♂ in Rajan environs (2000-2500 m a.s.l., Āzarbāyjān-e Gharbī province, Iran) on May 30, 2017 by T. Lengál; ♀ in Askestan (اسكستان) village environs (1750 m a.s.l., Ardabīl province, Iran) on May 27-29, 2019 by L. Havlík.
