Phytoecia (Musaria) wachanrui, one of the lesser known and collected taxa of the subgenus Musaria, distributed in South-Eastern Mediterranean region, Near-East, and Iran, has been described from Turkey by Étienne Mulsant in 1851 [❖].

Distribution:Greece (Rhodos), Iran, Israel, Jordan, Lebanon, Syria, Turkey


The depicted beetle was collected in Tahtaköprü Dam (Tahtaköprü Barajı) environs (Kazıklı, İslâhiye district, Gaziantep province, Turkey) on April 3, 2010.
