Pogonocherus (Pogonocherus) creticus, a rare species endemic to Crete, has been described from Myrtos environs (Crete) by Jan Kratochvíl in 1985 [❖].

Body length:	6 - 8 mm
Life cycle:	1 year
Adults in:	March - September
Host plant:	pines (Pinus spp.)
Distribution:	an species endemic to Crete

The depicted beetle was reared (hatched in October 2023) from larva found in a dead pine branch in Chrysoskalitissa (Χρυσοσκαλιτίσσης) village environs (N35°18′56″ E23°32′46″, 50 m a.s.l., Chania regional unit, Crete, Greece) in June 2023.
