Pogonocherus pesarinii, a rare endemic species to northern Morocco, has been described from Jebel Tasaot by Gianfranco Sama in 1993 [❖].
The biology of this interesting taxon is similar to related species of the genus Pogonocherus
(e.g. Pogonocherus perroudi Mulsant, 1839. Larval development in dying twigs of
Abies pinsapo maroccana and probably also in Cedrus antlantica.
