Rhamnusium algericum, a rare Maghrebian species, has been described from Akfadou environs (North Algeria) by Maurice Pic in 1896 [❖]. R. algericum has a biology similar to Rhamnusium bicolor (Schrank, 1781), the development of larvae has been recorded in Populus, Quercus, and Acer [✧].

Adults in:May - June
Host plant:polyphagous in deciduous trees (Populus, Quercus, Acer)
Distribution:Algeria, Tunisia


Thed depicted mounted specimen was collected in Tunisia.
