Trichoferus cisti, an endemic species to Morocco, has been originally described as Trichoferus spartii cisti from Tizi-n'Test (Morocco) by Gianfranco Sama in 1987 [❖]. Larvae of this species develop in Cistus villosus.

Life cycle:2 years
Adults in:June - August
Host plant:Cistus villosus
Distribution:species endemic to Morocco


The depicted beetles were reared from larvae found in Tizi-n'Test pass environs (1400 m a.s.l., Haut Atlas Mts., Morocco) on September 7, 2007.
