Trichoferus preissi, a rare endemic Anatolian species, has been described from Mardin environs as Hesperophanes Preissi by Lucas Friedrich Heyden in 1894 [▽].

Body length:15 - 22 mm
Life cycle:2 - 3 years
Adults in:June - August
Host plant:polyphagous in deciduous trees
Distribution:an endemic species Turkey


The depicted beetle was collected in Perge ruins environs (Aksu district, Antalya province, Turkey) in July 1980.
