The taxonomic status of this unmistakable and massive Anatolian Vadonia species is still vague, but in our opinion this taxon (species/subspecies ?) is clearly
distinguishable from Vadonia bittisiensis Chevrolat, 1882. All specimens captured during our expeditions to Anatolia we
found on Prangos spp. only.
|Body length:||12 - 20 mm|
|Life cycle:||2 years [?]|
|Host plant:|| unknown, Prangos (Apiaceae) is possible host plant|
|Distribution:||an endemic species to Turkey|
The depicted beetle was collected on flowering Prangos [❖] in the
summit plateaus of Nemrut Dagi Mt. (Adiyaman prov., Anatolia, SE Turkey).
